We're working on three interconnected priorities identified by Grant County residents: ensuring access to healthy food, expanding reliable transportation, and supporting mental and

behavioral health systems

We're helping build a Grant County with our network of partners where health is possible for everyone. Using the Vital Conditions framework, we want to ensure all Grant County residents have what they

need to thrive

Why This Priority: Food insecurity affects health outcomes, educational achievement, economic stability, and overall quality of life across Grant County. Many residents face barriers to accessing fresh, affordable, culturally appropriate food due to geographic isolation, limited transportation, and economic constraints.

Food Security

Transportation Access

Why This Priority: Grant County's rural geography and limited public transit create significant barriers for residents trying to access jobs, healthcare, education, and essential services. Lack of reliable transportation perpetuates economic inequality and limits opportunities for many community members.

Mental &

Behavioral Health

Why This Priority: Mental health and substance use challenges impact individuals, families, and communities throughout Grant County. Stigma, service fragmentation, and access barriers prevent people from getting the support they need for mental wellness and recovery.

Digital Equity

Why This Priority: Access to reliable internet and digital devices has become essential for education, employment, healthcare, and civic participation. Many Grant County residents—particularly in rural areas, low-income households, and among older adults—face barriers to internet connectivity, affordable devices, and digital literacy skills, limiting their ability to fully participate in modern life.

Grant County community members, growers, nonprofit leaders, and food system advocates came together to explore solutions for local food access. Participants shared challenges, identified opportunities for collaboration, and laid the groundwork for establishing the Grant County Food Council—a key priority in our Community Health Improvement Plan

Mind Matters:

A Community Mental & Behavioral Health Workshop

Grant County residents, behavioral health experts, advocates, and community partners came together to learn about the different levels of the behavioral health system during the day-long workshop. Participants learned about resources, networked across sectors, and had collaborative conversations on how they can carry the momentum from the event forward.
